02B White winners of Golden Gate Invitational
September 24-25, Palo Alto Soccer Club 02B White, coached by David Madrigal, won the Golden Gate Invitational Tournament in the BU10 bracket.
PASC02B white faced off with three teams beating El Cerrito FC Gunners 5-1. With outstanding goals from Beckett Hornik, two goals from Victor Micha, one goal by Marcus Ama and Creighton Morgenfeld had an amazing goal from almost midfield. In the second match 02B White faced off with host San Francisco Viking Club Red and was upset 1-5, seeing its’ only goal scored by birthday boy, Ben Tycz. This upset did not keep 02B White down as they came back strong on Sunday with a 3-2 victory over Mad River Steelhead. This victory gave O2B White a spot in the championship game against SF Viking Red. Having lost badly in Saturday’s game the boys were determined to play hard. Palo Alto came out strong and dominated the game from the start, maintaining a strong offensive and defensive line. Three goals were scored, two by Santiago Garcia-Mendez and one by Beckett Hornik. Palo Alto won the match 3-2. Great job boys!
