PASC 95B Blue Cerritos Challenge Cup Champions
Celebrating gold medals!
Palo Alto 95B Blue won the Cerritos Memorial Challenge Cup U16 Boys division over Memorial Day weekend in Long Beach, CA, beating out a group of 32 teams and only giving up a single goal in the course of three days and six games.
Cerritos Challenge Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country, ranked #12 by GotSoccer. You can see the results of the tournament in GotSoccer tournament rankings, http://rankings.gotsport.com/rankings/tournamentrankings.aspx?Age=16&Gender=Boys.
The team is currently ranked #14 nationally and #4 in a highly competitive Cal North division (5 CalNorth teams are ranked in the top 15 nationally).
Later this summer the teams will be headed to Surf Cup, the #1 ranked tournament in the country.
The team is currently coached by two of Stanford University’s men’s soccer coaches, Gregg Olson and Mike Graczyk. Mike Graczyk will be taking the head coaching position for the team this summer, having recently relocated to the Bay Area to coach for Stanford. Previously, Mike coached at Harvard University, played in the MLS for the San Jose Earthquakes, and was the starting goal keeper for University of New Mexico.
