PASC Announces Co-Directors of Coaching Appointments
It is a great pleasure to announce the appointment of Ian Drury and Armando Luna as Co-Directors of Coaching for the Palo Alto Soccer Club. Please join the Board in congratulating Ian and Armando in their new roles. After an extensive search to fill the Director of Coaching vacancy, the PASC board unanimously concluded Ian and Armando provided the ideal combination of talent, experience, local knowledge, and stability to guide the PASC board in the changing landscape of our local youth soccer. As Directors of Player Development this past year, Ian and Armando have proactively moved towards the implementation of many coaching development and player development initiatives without missing a beat during the vacancy of the Director of Coaching position. Their appointments recognize and formalize the roles they had recently started to take on. With the growing club, the PASC board believes two Co-Directors provides the best coverage for our growing programs and teams particularly when considering their team coaching commitments.
As Co-Directors, Ian and Armando will work together on defining policies and processes such as curriculums, coaching and player development, coaching and player evaluations and assist the PASC board in strategy. At the same time they will take the lead in the management and rollout of various PASC programs. For example, Ian plans to lead the Director of Coaching efforts across all of the boy teams while Armando will lead the same across the girl teams. Ian will lead efforts in PASC’s academy programs while Armando will lead efforts in the Jr. Trees and Tryouts.
As mentioned, Armando and Ian provide an ideal combination of talent, experience, local knowledge, and stability as exemplified in their many years with PASC.
