Why Futsal
Why Futsal?
Futsal is an indoor alternative to soccer with an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique. Futsal is a quick-paced, exciting form of indoor soccer, often played on a basketball court, with five players per side. The game is a sprint. Plays get set up instantaneously, with quick, controlled passes and close-range shots.
Futsal is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is the only form of indoor soccer recognized by FIFA, (Federation Internationale de Football Association), the international governing body of soccer. Pele, Ronaldinho, Neymar, Marta, Messi, Iniesta, Xavi all credit futsal for much of their skill development. Once you experience futsal, you will see the reasons.
Futsal discourages its players to just kick the ball, and there are no walls or boards to kick off from. Space on the court is at a premium so the ball has to be manipulated far more closely to the body. Effective movement of fellow team-mates is also essential for success. A Futsal ball is smaller and weighted, with less bounce than a regulation soccer ball therefore allowing for improved close control and first touch.
PASC recognizes the unique skill-building benefits provided by the futsal format. If skills development is important, Futsal is recognized as clearly the best form of indoor soccer.
- More touches on the ball
- Better foot skills
- More movement without the ball
- Quick decisions
- Technical speed of play
- High-score games
- Constant excitement
- Futsal is a great tool to better your Outdoor Soccer Game
Futsal Training
PASC Futsal Training Program.
In an effort to make sure we provide the most for our players year round, we have put together a program here that will allow our players to continue to develop in between the Fall and Spring seasons. Futsal is an exciting alternative for the players to continue developing during off season and mid season breaks.
Winter Training Program.
PASC Futsal training is consistent with a total of 7 sessions, and will be optional, yet we encourage everyone to attend. PASC futsal training staff will look to hit on all of the technical areas that players need to stay sharp in. These sessions will have stations, rotating the players through each of these areas, allowing them to work in different areas each session. Futsal will have a significant impact on improving their technical ability and movement off of the ball, while developing a fast-paced passing style.
Equipment Needed.
Indoor Soccer Shoes. NO CLEATS!
